Jewish Israelite Roots to Modern Naturopathic & Herbal Medicine,
An Official Pastoral Medicine Comprehensive Introduction & Overview
Midrash Rabbah - Genesis X:6
The son of Sira said: Elah caused drugs to spring forth from the earth;
with them the physician heals the wound and the apothecary compounds his
preparations.7 R. Simon said: There is not a single herb but has a
constellation in heaven which strikes it and says, ‘Grow,’8
Brief History and Origins of Pastoral Medicine. Correcting the modern Mis-information in regards to the roots of Pastoral & Naturopathic Medicine.
Roots and Origins of Biblical/Historical Pastoral Medicine(also known as
Talmudic medicine and Integrative Family Life Care):
We explicitly
reserve all of our unalienable rights to practice Faith Based & evidence
based Integrative & Pastoral
Medicine without prejudice.
Despite many inaccurate historical claims to pastoral and natural medicine springing forth from Western cultures and some Vatican connected Knight Hospitallar groups, who have misrepresented the facts, later adopted by Christian cultures, the Fact of the matter is that Pastoral Medicine was very much rooted in the Eastern cultures first. Medicine and Religion were intertwined for thousands of years before the advent and rise of western and european civilization. Christians and Knight Hospitallars were introduced to Pastoral and Naturopathic Medicine by Jewish-Hebrew Medicine Practitioners of Judea, many known as the Netzarim-Essene Therapute(Osseans).
Pastoral was first used in the
Torah, from the Hebrew Word "Ro'eh" &
Medicine
is from the
Hebrew word "Marpe", thus "Marpe-Ro'eh". "
Pastoral-Medicine was
first used in the Tenakh thousands of years before the Advent of
Christian, Hospitallar, Western Naturopathic or Allopathic
systems of Medicine & is referenced numerous times in the
Talmud. The Pharisees & Rabbis of Rabbinical Judaism & the
Levitical Priests & Prophets of the Ancient Essenes known as
Netzarim In Damascus & Jerusalem Communities & Theraputae in
Egyptian Hebrew communities were practicing a fully developed
system of healthcare whom the Greeks sought such knowledge
of..
Hebrew culture was centered around being Sacred & Set
apart (Heb Qodesh) & keeping our Physical bodies fit &
healthy(Heb. Kosher or Kasher), thus "Sacred Fitness" was the
foundation of our concepts of being healthy before Yahwah which
we call Rapha Kasherim.
The first Knight Hospitallars & Templars were more concerned with
colonial expansions & "stealing history & ideas from indigenous
populations to claim as their own" under the Vatican, learned of these
sacred medical sciences when
they ruthlessly invaded Jerusalem & annexed it under Crusader
rule & when they came into contact with Jews in North East
Africa who may have had a particular belief in Yeshua but
maintained their Jewish Identity. "Talmudic Medicine" and the
evolved intellectual concepts are very much studied in many major
Medical Universities in the US & around the World. Any other
religion of the west that makes any claims to teach or promote
pastoral medicine, must acknowledge the Jewish roots & origins
of Pastoral Medicine. Because its combined with faith, culture,
medical sciences, mental health & physical therapy, it is
traditionally referred to as "Integrated or Integrative
Pastoral(Jewish) Medicine". In the Hebrew
culture a Physician was called a Rophe(Physician or Healer)
& Israelite healthcare was usually reserved or overseen by
the Leviticus Priesthood(see book of Leviticus & Dead Sea
Scrolls). Today as a unified nation of peoples we maintain
that tradition.
Jewish Hebrew Medicine, along with Islamic Medicine, is in fact the Mother
& cornerstone of
current western, allopathic and natural/naturopathic medicine. The First instance of
Holistic Health therapies can be found in such books as the Book of
Leviticus, which addressed such issues as dermatology, STD's, menstrual
cycles and also preventative medicines & even quaritine of contagious
disease to prevent community outbreaks(aka plagues) through the teachings of basic
human hygiene which we call today PUBLIC HEALTH. The Jewish culture through the Enochian Jews later referred
to as Netzarim Essenes have written numerous books and made references to healing
herbs that not only are scientifically proven to be able to heal certain
diseases, but are specifically apart of Ayurvedic & Oriental systems of Medicine. Hebrew
Medicine science was one in the name with Ayurvedic & Oriental Medicine.
As I point out in
my Book, "The Way, the prophetic messianic voice to the path of the
Edenic Kingdom Redemption", Ancient Hebrews were ethnically related to
the Brahmins and India civilization that sprang forth from the Indus
Valley Civilization. Both Hebrews and Hindoos acknowledge Abraham(the
aleph being silent in hebrew) and Brahm as being historically one in the same!! Braham is
specifically mentioned as as being the founder of the Ayurvedic
Medical Science that still stands as the oldest and most advanced
medical system this day, with Chinese Medicine, its Oriental Counterpart
being the 2nd oldest and equally advanced.
In the Book of Jubilees, written by Moses, Abraham is reputed as
recieving the original science of Herbal Medicine that was passed down
to him from his great grand uncle Noah who recieved the revelation and
studies of Evidence based Naturopathic Medicine,
Jubilees Chapter 10:7-13
10. And one of us He commanded that we should teach Noah all their medicines; for He knew that they would not walk in uprightness, nor strive in righteousness. 11. And we did according to all His words: all the malignant evil ones we bound in the place of condemnation and a tenth part of them we left that they might be subject before Satan on the earth. 12. And we explained to Noah all the medicines of their diseases, together with their seductions, how he might heal them with herbs of the earth. 13. And Noah wrote down all things in a book as we instructed him concerning every kind of medicine.
This is the Origin of Ayurvedic Medicine which we refer today for legal purposes as Pastoral Medicine, Hebrew Pastoral Medicine or Integrative Pastoral Medicine, which is Faith-cultural based Medicine rooted in the Science of Indian and Hebrew Medicine(Ayur-Vedic aka Science of Medicine). Abraham is accredited with such an honor because he is the one who took it and established the system within the Indian Continent amongst the Dravidian civilizations which built the Great Indus Valley Civilization at the time & carried it throughout Western Asia.
After the Abrahamic and Hebrew tribal migration to Western Asia, now known as the Middle East circa 3300's BCE(or AM. anno mundi, note the Meseretic bible is off by 1000 years of missing Hebrew history according to the complete woks of josephus), the Mediterranean peoples, including the Egyptians were introduced to Ayurvedic Medicine and began to develop their own systems rooted in Herbal Medicines. Josephus in his antiquities of the Jews, notes that Abraham Taught the Sciences to the Egyptians and the Egyptians later taught it to the Greeks.
In 2735 B.C., the Chinese emperor Shen Nong wrote an authoritative treatise on herbs that is still in use today. Shen Nong recommended the use of Ma Huang (known as ephedra in the Western world), for example, against respiratory distress. Ephedrine, extracted from ephedra, is widely used as a decongestant. You'll find it in its synthetic form, pseudoephedrine, in many allergy, sinus, and cold-relief medications produced by large pharmaceutical companies.
The records of King Hammurabi of Babylon (c. 1800 B.C.) include instructions for using medicinal plants. Hammurabi prescribed the use of mint for digestive disorders. Modern research has confirmed that peppermint does indeed relieve nausea and vomiting by mildly anesthetizing the lining of the stomach.
The entire Middle East has a rich history of herbal healing. There are texts surviving from the ancient cultures of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and India that describe and illustrate the use of many medicinal plant products, including castor oil, linseed oil, and white poppies.
In the scriptural book of Ezekiel 47:7-12, "which dates from the sixth century B.C., we find this admonition regarding plant life: "
..and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and leaf thereof for medicine."
Egyptian hieroglyphs show physicians of the first and
second centuries A.D. treating constipation with senna pods, and using
caraway and peppermint to relieve digestive upsets.
Sirach 38:1-15
Honour the physician for the need thou hast of him: for the most High hath created his profession. (2) For all healing is from Elah, and he shall receive gifts of the king. (3) The skill/knowledge of the physician makes him esteemed and distinguished, and in the sight of great men he shall be praised. (4) The most High hath created herbal medicines out of the earth, and a wise man will not abhor/neglect them. (5) Was not bitter water made sweet by the twig? (6) The virtue of these things is come to the knowledge of men, and the most High hath given knowledge to men, that he may be honoured in his wonders. (7) By these he shall cure and shall allay their pains, and of these the druggist prepares his medicines, and shall make up ointments of health, and of his works there shall be no end. (8) For the peace of Elah is over all the face of the earth. (9) My son, in thy sickness neglect not thyself, but pray to Yahwah, and he shall heal thee. (10) Turn away from sin and order thy hands aright, and cleanse thy heart from all offence. (11) Give a sweet savour, and a memorial of fine flour, and make a fat offering, and then give place to the physician, lest he leave, for you need him too. (12) For Yahwah created him: and let him not depart from thee, for his works are necessary. (13) For there is a time when thou must fall into their hands: (14) And they shall beseech Yahwah, that his diagnosis may be correct so that what they give for treatment and remedy will bring about a cure. (15) He who is a sinner towards his Maker, will be defiant towards the physician.
Father of
Islamic Medicine
Al-Razi,
known to the Europeans as Rhazes (may be spelt Rhases, Rasis, Rasi or
ar-Razi) (850 - 923), was at the forefront of Islamic research into
medicine. A prolific writer, he produced over 200 books about medicine
and philosophy, including an unfinished book of medicine that gathered
most of the medical knowledge known to the Islamic world in one place.
This book was translated into Latin and it became one of the backbones
of the western history of medicine.
Al Razi wrote extensively on the crucial relationship between doctor and patient, believing that they should develop a relationship built upon trust and, as the doctor had a duty to help the patient, the patient had the duty to follow the doctor's advice. Like Galen, he believed that a holistic approach to medicine was crucial, taking into account the background of the patient and also considering any ailments suffered by close family, as with modern medicine.
His other great achievement was in understanding the nature of illness, which had previously been described by the symptoms, but Rhazes made the great leap of looking for what was causing the symptoms. In the case of smallpox and measles, he blamed the blood and, as he could not have known anything about microbes, this was a logical statement.
Avicenna (Ibn Sina) (c. 980—1037) Abu
‘Ali al-Husayn ibn Sina is better known in Europe by the
Latinized name “Avicenna.” He is probably the most significant
philosopher in the Islamic tradition and arguably the most influential
philosopher of the pre-modern era. He is regarded as the "Father" of
early Modern Medicine.
Of the 450 works he is known to have
written, around 240 have survived, including 150 on philosophy and 40 on
medicine. His most famous works are The Book of Healing, a philosophical
and scientific encyclopedia, and The Canon of Medicine, a medical
encyclopedia which became a standard medical text at many
medieval universities and remained in use as late as 1650. In 1973,
Avicenna's Canon Of Medicine was reprinted in New York. Besides
philosophy and medicine, Avicenna's corpus includes writings on astronomy, alchemy, geography
and geology, psychology, Islamic
theology, logic, mathematics, physics and works of poetry.
From a young age, he gained renown as a physician and teacher, writing many detailed treatises about medicine. His publication, 'The Canon,' became a core text for physicians across the Islamic world and Europe, laying out a detailed guide for diagnosing and treating ailments.
Ibn-Sina believed that many diagnoses could be made by simply checking the pulse and the urine, and a large part of the Canon is given over to making diagnoses from the color, turbidity, and odor of urine. Of course, this also needed to be set alongside the Islamic holistic approach of looking at diet and background.
His other breakthroughs were some suggestions for infant care and, based upon his belief that bad water was responsible for many ailments, he included guidelines on how to check the purity of water.
During the 12th C., The Jewish philosopher, Maimonides, known as RaMBaM - Rabbi Moses Ben Maimon, contributed enormously to both Judaism and Medicine; he researched and wrote works on Jewish law, hygiene, natural health, nutrition and a balanced mind; these were considered fundamental health practices that influenced both the people of that era and future generations. He was considered one of the most respected influential physicians of the world, while his philosophical practices were revered for "both body and soul." His life was wholeheartedly devoted to the Jewish people, Torah and Talmud.
"Any illness which can be cured by nutrition should not be treated by any other means." - Maimonides
"Our Rabbis taught Five things were said of garlic: It satiates, it keeps the body warm, it brightens up the face, it increases semen, and kills parasites in the bowels" - Talmud, Baba Kama 82a
This clearly shows that Naturopthic, Natural & Herbal Medicine was very much apart of Pastoral Medicine and was created by the Eternal Creator and is under the Jurisdiction of the Jewish-Israelite Peoples governmental structure who has the inherent power to regulate this profession. Naturopathic Medicine is not to be Regulated by the State, unless they are going to acknowledge the Eternal Creator as the root of it and acknowledge it as apart of the Profession of those who are Trained and Skilled in Religious and faith based healing. This cannot be so in a Country that advocates two leadership jurisdiction of Religion(Synagogue or Church) & State, whereby the Synagogue has the power to regulate that which pertains to the affairs of the synagogue. Yahwah has mandated that we be able to not only prevent disease, but to diagnose and treat it for the purposes of bring a total healing from the infirmity.
The FDA insistence of enforcing Natural Medicine Physicians to put a disclaimer that their profession is not meant to cure, diagnose or prevent any disease is in direct contradiction and violation of Ancient Jewish and Hindi/Buddhist Tradition and Religion. Yet based on their own definitions, we are not to be diagnosing and preventing and curing any disease, as it is based on allopathic palliative cure(i.e curing a beef jerky to make it edible by suspending the detrimental bacterial effects that would normally occur when beef is left out and becomes rotten & some one eats it. it doesn't eradicate the bacteria, its simply covers it up.).
We who are clinically skilled and trained as Naturopathic and Integrative Medicine Physicians are to use Diagnosis & treatments in the way of being able to Discern, Assess, pro-scribe natural remedies and give Counsel and teach our patients the Edenic Laws of Natural Health for the purposes of preventing illness and health imbalances and its our goal to bring total healing that goes beyond Palliative cure. Our cure is known as healing cure and restoration/regeneration.
The Greeks which the west deceptive claim to get their Medicine from began around 400 BCE thousands of years after Hebrew, Ayurvedic Medicines, Chinese Medicine, Egyptian Medicine and Mesopotamian medicine were already fully developed & advanced.
The Greek Physician Hippocrates is not really the Father of Western Medicine, in fact he forbid Allopathic Practice in his Original Oath in which ALL MDs in Western Medicine has blatantly violated.
The Original Hippocratic OATH
I swear by Apollo Physician and Asclepius and Hygieia and Panaceia and all the gods and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will fulfill according to my ability and judgment this oath and this covenant:
To hold him who has taught me this art as equal to my parents and to live my life in partnership with him, and if he is in need of money to give him a share of mine, and to regard his offspring as equal to my brothers in male lineage and to teach them this art—if they desire to learn it—without fee and covenant; to give a share of precepts and oral instruction and all the other learning to my sons and to the sons of him who has instructed me and to pupils who have signed the covenant and have taken an oath according to the medical law, but no one else.
I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice.
I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.
I will not use the knife, not even on sufferers from stone, but will withdraw in favor of such men as are engaged in this work.
Whatever houses I may visit, I will come for the benefit of the sick, remaining free of all intentional injustice, of all mischief and in particular of sexual relations with both female and male persons, be they free or slaves.
What I may see or hear in the course of the treatment or even outside of the treatment in regard to the life of men, which on no account one must spread abroad, I will keep to myself, holding such things shameful to be spoken about.
If I fulfill this oath and do not violate it, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and art, being honored with fame among all men for all time to come; if I transgress it and swear falsely, may the opposite of all this be my lot.
—Translation from the Greek by Ludwig Edelstein. From The Hippocratic Oath: Text, Translation, and Interpretation, by Ludwig Edelstein. Baltimore: Johns Hopkins Press, 1943.
The Modern Hippocratic Oat used by Western MDs
I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:
I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow.
I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures [that] are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.
I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug.
I will not be ashamed to say "I know not," nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient's recovery.
I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.
I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick.
I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.
I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.
If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.
—Written in 1964 by Louis Lasagna, Academic Dean of the School of Medicine at Tufts University, and used in many medical schools today
Hippocrates was a Naturopathic Physician who received his training from Well known healers such as Pythagoreans. Pythagorean however recieved his Natural Healing professional skills from once again a Major group of Israelites that Lived in Egypt known as the Therapuetae..This was the Branch of Hebrews known as the Essenes(Netzarim). They helped enhance and advance Egyptian Medicine and most other Medical sciences found in North and Northeast Africa. No matter what source you study in regards to Medical Science, both allopathic and Naturopathic, the Essenes will be mentioned as playing a major role in the development of original western Medicine. the Theraputaes Medical Science as non other than Pure Ayurvedic Medicine, the Medical Science that was always used by the Jews and Hebrews.....
Christians and Protestant alike later adopted the Naturopathic Medical Approach and began to spread it throughout Europe... If anything, the Knights Hospitallars owe their foundation to a man of color of the Etnic Jews, from the Tribe of Levy, name Yeshua ben Joseph aka Jesus Christ, a Torah Observant Jew/Israelite, son of a Priest, which in the Netzarim tongue is called a carpenter. Christianity while they have strayed from their roots, owe their complete understanding of Natural health to both Jews and Arab-Muslims
However it needs to be made clear, that just as Europeans have a tendency to lie about their contributions to history, So has the European based Naturopathic Movement played a role in lying about and distorting the Origins of Naturoapthic Medicine...Naturopathic Medicine is simply a western word for oriental or Ayurvedic Medicine also called Eastern Medicine.. Naturopathic, Homeoapathic, Homotoxicology, midwifery etc were used long before the advent and rise of the White civilization.
Dr. Benedict Lust is not the Founder of Naturopathy. Hahnemann is not the founder of Homeopathy etc etc, no more than Christopher Columbus finding or discovering Native America!. When he arrived it already existed and History has used such lies to promote information that is clearly Not TRUTH. These characters may have played a major role in promoting and enhancing what already was, but they are not the FOUNDERS or CREATORS... The Eternal Creator and Eastern Asian culture, rooted in the Black Dravidians, Hebrews & Brahmins are to be accredited with the roots and foundation of any scientific and faith based medical practices...
Europeans however can be accredited with introducing
unnatural, destructive and poisonous medical practice which is one of
the worst systems of medicine ever known to mankind in regards to
internal treatment. Allopathic Medicine, which not one ancient
physician, including Hippocrates, would ever endorse and clearly
condemned during their lifetime... However it doesn't take a genius
to realize how much destructive systems, from medical, social to
political, that has been introduced from European civilization and
culture to the destruction of the entire planet.. No other culture or
nation has strayed so far from Natural Law and living until they have
brought the whole world to the brink of utter destruction than the
European Nation...From Guns and bullets, to Atomic Bombs to destroying
the ozone layer and polluting every major river and ocean on the planet
to raping every nation of its natural resources. Their Allopathic
Medicine represents the Nuking, polluting and internal warfare of the
human body.
Emergency Medicine and Surgery are the only two
exceptions, as these two are much needed in todays society to work
alongside Pastoral Medicine.
Remember during the Dark Ages during Medieval times in Europe, the Muslim World, along with their Mizrahi Jewish Brethren in North Africa, was going through a major period of Enlightenment, with the best of Islamic Medicine, Unani and Siddha from eastern Asia. All rooted in Natural Medicine.
Pastoral Medicine and Patient Relations were evend discussed in the Talmud..
If the patient desires something, and the physician thinks he is not to have it, the former is to be gratified, because (Prov., 14:10) “The heart knows its own bitterness.” (Yoma, 83:1.)
The following 39 medical topics are discussed in the Talmud.
- fevers (Ned., 41:1)
- malaria (Git, 69:1)
- malignant throat trouble, probably diphtheria (Ber., 8:1)
- tonsillitis (Git, 69:1)
- worms, parasites (Sab., 109:2)
- jaundice (Sab., 109:2)
- gout (Sota, 10:1)
- dropsy (Sab., 33:1)
- stone in the bladder (B. M., 85:1)
- cardiacus (Git, 67:2)
- hemorrhage of the lungs (Git., 69:1)
- cancer (Ab. Z., 10:2)
- gastritis (B. K., 80:1)
- colic (Ned., 31:2)
- flatulence (Pes., 116:1)
- disease caused by drinking the froth of liquids (Git., 69:1)
- hemorrhoids (Ber., 55:1)
- scorbutus (Ab. Z., 28:1)
- hip disease (Git, 69:2) [rheumatism?]
- sexual diseases, syphilis, etc. (Sab., 110:1-2)
- boils (Ab. Z., 21:1)
- itch (Bech., 41:1)
- carbuncle (Ab. Z., 28:1)

- convulsions (HuL, 105:2)
- epilepsy (Sab., 61:1)
- bulemia (Yoma, 83:2)
- nervousness manifested by the thought of impending danger (Git., 69:2)
- wounds (Ab. Z., 28:17)
- earache
- toothache
- headache
- bleeding of the nose (Git., 69:1)
- pterygium ophthalmia (Git, 69:1)
- blindness, by day or night (Git, 69:
So considering that Allopathic Medicine is clearly a failed system and has always been a failing system, why would they continue to black ball Naturoapthic Physicians and Oriental Medicine Physicians? Do they not realize that unless the Eternal Creator builds a home, then those who build, labour in vain? The Eternal Creator created the Herbal Medicine System and also the knowledge that one can obtain through proper clinical and theoretic training, which is most effective through apprenticeship under guidance of another Physician, for the purposes of accomplishing his will and purpose for mankind.
Anything that seeks to go against that which Yahwah has created is doomed to fail. Anything that in and of itself is designed to imitate and contradict natural law is only able to produce DEATH. and thats why you see hundreds of thousand of people die each year from Allopathic Medicine and Pharmaceutical drugs. ...
Therefore, based on the prophetic mandate and vision from Yahwah and because we as Jewish people are required to be a Light unto the Nations, and a Priest and Holy Nation and are required to establish Kosher Lifestyle, meaning lifestyles that are "fit", we must re-establish the True Authority and Torah Laws to regulate Pastoral Medicine. We are the original vessel in which Yahwah Elah spoke to mankind through in regards to Herbal Medicine and its healing powers, and therefore we today represent the "The Original Way" in which to follow in regards to Healing and Restoration.
Therefore based on this Torah based mandate, we give the official and authoritative definition of Pastoral Medicine, which serves as the rule, regulation and source of any true Medical Practices under these definitions.
